Even though he will never act on it, he harbours feelings for Yuuya, though he does understand love between a monster and a human is impossible.

During the events of Bonds Beyond Time, Paradox had Malefic Blue-Eyes White Dragon to transform the Dark Magician into a helpless boy, effectively banning him from the game. Though Yugi, Judai and Yusei were still able to defeat Paradox, the effects of his magic wasn't lifted and little Maahad was left with no way to take himself back into the deck.

Judai and Yubel are working on a way to restore Maahad back to his Dark Magician form, but for now, he lives with his Pharaoh and Yugi in the game shop. He can still communicate with the Duel Monster Spirits and he serves his master still... Just in a tiny thirteen year old body.

He misses home and the world is so weird, Pharaoh...
